The Los Angeles Lakers broke a 9-game losing streak against the Phoenix Suns to pick their first win over them since the 2021 Playoffs.

Austin Reaves had another sensational performance, scoring 25 points while dishing out a career-high 11 assists in the win. He got MVP chants at the end of the game from the Lakers faithful, with the fanbase loving his growth.

One fan compared him to pro wrestler Shawn Michaels, “Hit the music.”

One fan was not happy about the comparisons to Michael Jordan, “Modern-day what??”

One fan mocked the Suns, “The Suns watching Austin Reaves go off.”

Reaves was criticized for his high free throw rate, averaging 13.3 over the last 4 games, “Free throw merchant.”

One fan used a hilarious edit of Reaves scoring on MJ, “He’s better.”

Another fan was quite upset about the MJ comparison, “Please don’t ever compare him to my goat ever again that is highly disrespectful yall can compare him to Kobe tho but just don’t compare him to Jordan, Reeves is nowhere near Jordan.”

The Lakers had 2 players who outscored Reaves on the night. Anthony Davis scored 27 while D’Angelo Russell added another 26 to make the 3 players combine for 78 points.

The Lakers Move One Game Within .500 Once Again

The Lakers now have a 36-37 record, back within a game of hitting .500 for the first time this season. Every time the Lakers have been in this position, they have lost a game and had to rework toward this goal. With a tricky matchup against play-in rivals Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, the Lakers will hope to finally break the jinx.

Austin Reaves has proven his value as a starter and was given the chance tonight after weeks of fans clamoring for it. LeBron James is still out with an injury, but he is expected to be re-evaluated tomorrow to get a final timetable on when he will return. While coming back for the OKC game is unlikely, the Lakers will hope they have their star back for the end of the season, as the Lakers have a crucial game against the Los Angeles Clippers on April 5.
