LaVar Ball Says Pelicans Will Beat The Lakers In First Round Of 2020 Playoffs

2 Min Read

Since his trade to the New Orleans Pelicans, the Lonzo Ball hype has died down tremendously. In a small market, in which there is much less pressure to perform, the former #2 overall pick is being given the space and time to develop into the player he believes he can be.

But after much silence, it seems an old face is rearing its head again.

In an appearance on Fox Sport’s Undisputed, LaVar Ball was given a platform to share his thoughts on many different items regarding his family, the Big Baller Brand, and the NBA as a whole. In one particular segment, he went so far as to say Zo’s team (the Pelicans) would not only make the playoffs but would also beat LeBron James and the Lakers in the first round.

LaVar is known for making overly-bold predictions about his son and the team he plays for, but this may be the most far-fetched of them all.

The Pelicans are currently still 3.5 games out of the 8th seed and have a lot of ground to make up if they want a spot in the postseason this year. If they do make it, to say they’d have a chance at beating the best team in the West would be a major stretch.

But LaVar has never been shy about showing faith in his kid’s abilities. When (and if) LiAngelo and LaMelo make it to the NBA, you can bet they’ll have LaVar in their corner the whole way.

Who can blame him for that?
