Patrick Beverley: “Every Kid Is Not Going To Be 7 Feet, Every Kid Is Not Going To Be Steph Curry, Greek Freak, Or James Harden, Or Russell Westbrook. The Average Kid Looks Like Me, My Height, My Size. How Else Can You Impact Winning?”

Patrick Beverley isn’t precisely a superstar in the NBA; he’s not a player known by his offensive arsenal or the big numbers he posts on a nightly basis. Bev isn’t that kind of player and he tries to impact the game in different ways.

In his last two games with the Clippers, he combined for 0 points in the last two games for the LA Clippers, but he always manages to seem like one of the most important players on the court.

On Friday’s game against the Nuggets, he had 0 points but ended with a plus 13. On Sunday’s game against the Sixers, he had 0 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds. That doesn’t seem to be a problem for him, who tries to help his team in different ways.

“I just try to show different ways,” Beverley said, via SI. “You have players in this league that can score. That’s good, that’s fair. What else can you do to impact the game of winning?”

He knows he’s not the most talented player in the world, the tallest or the best shooter, but Bev always tries to impact the game, even in ways that you can put on the sheets.

“Every kid is not going to be 7 feet, every kid is not going to be Steph Curry, Greek Freak, or James Harden, or Russell Westbrook,” Beverley said. “The average kid looks like me, my height, my size. How else can you impact winning?”

It doesn’t matter if he doesn’t score, you are going to feel his presence on the court, no matter what.

“If I don’t score, you’re gonna know I was out there,” Beverley said. “If my defense isn’t there tonight, you’re going to know I was out there. That’s been my biggest thing, impact the game by any means.”

Knowing that he’s part of the Clippers, it doesn’t look like his help in offense is needed. They count with more scorers before Beverley. However, the things he does for the team, those things that you can explain with stats, that’s why he’s so valuable for the Clips.
