Dillon Brooks of the Houston Rockets found himself in hot water after being ejected late in the fourth quarter during the team’s 128-119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. The video capturing Brooks’ alleged interaction with an NBA referee has been leaked, revealing a profanity-laden tirade.

“The f*** are you talking about flopping? You’re a f***ing pu***. F*** you. Bi** a** ni***.”

“How is that flopping? You’re f***ing s***. Go back to your f***ing screen.”

In the leaked audio, Brooks can be heard expressing his frustration with the ref accusing Middleton of pushing him. The explicit-laden rant includes Brooks calling the referee a derogatory term and questioning the decision to call a flop.

The incident occurred with 46 seconds left in the game when Brooks, attempting to recover a deflected pass from Khris Middleton, was nudged out of bounds by Middleton. Frustrated, Brooks threw the ball back into play the referee, called him for his second technical foul of the game, resulting in his ejection.

After the game, Brooks continued to criticize the referees, expressing frustration with their decisions and emphasizing the need for better officiating. His comments may result in a fine from the league for public criticism of officials.

Dillon Brooks has a history of ejections and on-court confrontations, and this incident adds to the list. Despite the Rockets‘ 13-10 record, Brooks’ frustration with officiating and the team’s struggles on the road underscore the challenges they face in a competitive season.

Dillon Brooks Had An Eventful Return In Memphis

Dillon Brooks, once a cornerstone of the Memphis Grizzlies, made an eventful return to the city, now playing as a member of the Houston Rockets. His departure from Memphis in the offseason was marked by initial tension, with Brooks expressing dissatisfaction over being perceived as a scapegoat for the Grizzlies’ challenges in the previous season.

However, the Grizzlies surprised everyone by honoring Brooks with a tribute video during his return game, earning him a standing ovation from the home crowd at the FedEx Forum.

Drafted by the Houston Rockets in 2017, Brooks had his rights traded to the Grizzlies, where he spent the first six seasons of his career before joining the Rockets this offseason. The emotional tribute served as a bridge to mend any lingering hard feelings, recognizing Brooks as an integral part of the Grizzlies’ recent success.

During the game, Brooks demonstrated the impact he had on the city and the team, showcasing his defensive prowess and tenacity. Despite a change in his on-court role toward the end of his tenure, Brooks played a pivotal role in transforming the Grizzlies into a perennial playoff contender. The standing ovation and emotional response from both Brooks and the Memphis crowd underscore the lasting impact he made on the city, even as he embarks on a new chapter with the Houston Rockets.

In a revenge game against the Grizzlies, Brooks justified his worth with a stellar performance, contributing significantly to the Rockets’ 103-96 victory. After hitting a clutch three-pointer, he confidently addressed any critics, declaring, “That’s why they paid me 4 for $80 million,” emphasizing his value and impact on the court. Brooks finished the game with a season-high 26 points, showcasing his scoring prowess and resilience.

The matchup also witnessed a heated exchange between Brooks and former teammate Desmond Bane, further highlighting the lingering emotions between the two players. Despite the verbal altercation, Brooks had the last laugh as the Rockets secured the victory, emphasizing his significance to the team’s success.

Brooks’ return to Memphis became a moment of triumph, both emotionally and on the court, as he continues to play a crucial role in the Houston Rockets’ journey this season.
