Speaking to the media in the aftermath of their Game 1 win: “Since we made acquisitions, we’ve been able to be very resilient in games. We have been playing playoff basketball for about 2.5 months now… just punch our clock in and be ready to play right now in the postseason.”
“So, we’ve been very resilient tonight versus a team like Golden State,” he opined. “We know how great they are on their home floor for years. To withstand that is another good start for our ball club.”

James also explained how the Lakers would have to be ready for a sterner test in Game 2. “We got the most important stops and was able to close out, but they ain’t gonna stop, and we have to be even better for Game 2.”
The Lakers were buoyed by Anthony Davis’ solid 30-point performance, coupled with 23 rebounds, and 5 assists in a whopping 43 minutes. While James had 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Stephen Curry revealed how LeBron James was playing a different style of basketball from his Cavaliers version. He noted that the Lakers’ superstar was attempting to shoot a lot more three-pointers.
“You have to reflect on everything that we’ve all gone through since the ’15 Finals and just appreciate the opportunity to have another chapter in that battle and that competition,” Curry said, per Jovan Buha of The Athletic.
“Obviously, once the ball drops, it’s a different feel just based on how the Lakers play versus the old Cavs teams and even just a different style that he’s playing a little bit. He’s trying to come at you a little differently and space you out a little bit. He’s shooting a lot more threes and stuff like that. It’s just a little different vibe.”
James’ numbers in the playoffs might need a little bumping up as he averages 22.1 PPG, 11.0 RPG, and 5.0 APG in the postseason. Only time will tell if he indeed pushes the numbers up by accounting for more three-pointers. It surely will help address the Lakers’ three-point shooting challenges.
