The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that completely changed their roster at the trade deadline, and they have been a lot better after making some trades. They could end up making a deep run if they make the playoffs, and it seems as though the team’s aspirations are still high.

After the team’s recent win against the Houston Rockets, LeBron James revealed that the team still wants to win the championship this season, noting that he likes what the team has done in the last month.

“We just want to put ourselves in a position to be able to compete for a championship,” LeBron said. “It’s a journey and obviously, we don’t have as much chemistry as a lot of other teams that are trying to compete for a championship or have aspirations to win a championship, but I like what we’ve been building over the last month or so.” (5:00)

There’s no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers have a lot of talent on the roster as of right now, and they could surprise some people with how far they get. It is hard to see them winning a championship, though stranger things have happened.

LeBron James is currently averaging 28.8 PPG, 8.5 RPG, and 6.9 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers. There is no doubt that he’s had an All-NBA-type season, and if the Lakers make the playoffs, they could end up making a deep postseason run with him at the helm.

Isiah Thomas Believes Teams Don’t Want To Face The Lakers

There is no doubt that things have clicked for the Los Angeles Lakers as of late, and they have some momentum going into the postseason. In fact, Isiah Thomas previously claimed that no top teams want to face the Lakers.

“The Lakers at 8, a month ago, we had the Lakers dead. Straight dead, go to the trade deadline, everybody hated them, worst season ever, they’re never gonna make the playoffs, and now they’re 8th. Not only are they 8th, but they’re playing well. I know someone said that nobody fears LeBron, let me tell you something. Them 7 teams that are 1 through 7, there’s not one team saying I want to play LeBron and the Lakers. in the first round. So there is some fear there. That’s the team I think nobody really wants to face.”

Facing the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round is not ideal for any team, as they will be a tough matchup due to the elite players on their team. Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers make the playoffs, whether it is through the play-in tournament or otherwise, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
