LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers to an NBA title in 2020 but things have gone south since then.

There has been some talk this season about the two not being on good terms but LeBron seemingly refuted that notion after the Lakers beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday.

Davis had an excellent showing against the Thunder, as he finished with 37 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Lakers to a third straight win. LeBron, who is still out with that foot injury, was very impressed with what he saw and shared that clip of their embrace on the court.

There had been a report earlier this month that LeBron was disappointed with Davis this season but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Perhaps he could be a little frustrated that AD doesn’t always play the way he did against the Thunder, as the Lakers would have a much better record if he was more consistent.

Anthony Davis Spoke On Rumors About His Relationship With LeBron James

All this talk of a rumored rift really started when Davis didn’t celebrate after James broke the scoring record. All of their interactions on the court are now overanalyzed as the media speculates if something is indeed wrong between the two superstars.

Davis spoke on the rumors recently and said they have one of the best relationships in the NBA when it comes to duos or teammates. AD says people don’t see all the things they do together off the court and that they do hang out quite a lot.

Whatever the case may be, these two will ultimately be judged on whether they can lead the Lakers back to the top and there is certainly quite a bit of optimism now that they can. When LeBron suffered that foot injury back in February, the Lakers’ season seemed to be over, but they are now the 8th seed with a 37-37 record thanks, in large part, to Davis. He has averaged 27.3 PPG, 12.8 RPG, 2.6 APG, and 1.9 BPG since LeBron went down and with James close to a return, the Lakers might be primed for takeoff.
