In what comes as a shocking piece of news, USC All-American and son of LeBron James, Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest during practice.

NBA insider, Shams Charania of The Athletic took to Twitter to report the news along with an extended statement.

USC All-American Bronny James collapsed on the court Monday and had a cardiac arrest. He was taken to the hospital and is now in stable condition and no longer in the ICU. Statement:

“Yesterday while practicing, Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest. The medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU. We ask for respect and privacy for the James family and we will update the media when there is more information.”

It further added:

“LeBron and Savannah wish to publicly send their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”

Per TMZ’s sources, “a 911 call was made at 9:26 AM Monday from USC’s Galen Center for — the venue where the team plays and practices — and the 18-year-old hooper, who was unconscious, was taken by ambulance to the hospital.”

Bronny is a meteorically rising talent in his sport — he recently committed to the Trojans. He is one of the names expected to make the NBA in the future. Bronny was a McDonald’s All-American during his high school senior season.

With this, Bronny’s future remains unclear, especially after he was looked towards playing with his father in the NBA — a sentiment that James himself made very clear.

“My last year will be played with my son,” James said last year. “Wherever Bronny is at, that’s where I’ll be. I would do whatever it takes to play with my son for one year. It’s not about the money at that point.”

Multiple players and well-wishers sent their recovery prayers to the young star, including NFL star Damar Hamlin who made a miraculous recovery after suffering a cardiac arrest last season.

“Prayers to Bronny & The James family as well. here for you guys just like you have been for me my entire process,” he wrote.

Our sincere prayers are for Bronny and for the courage of the James family at this tumultuous time.
