LeBron James has been to the Finals 10 times. That’s more than 27 of the 30 existing franchises (90%). He’s been in the league 17 seasons, meaning he’s most likely to make the Finals than not. Let that sink in.
Needless to say, that means that LeBron James has played a lot of playoff games. More importantly, it means that he’s won a lot of playoff games. Yet, somehow, his critics often say that he’s not a good playoff performer or a guy who lives up to the big stage.
LeBron James gets a lot of criticism for his 3-6 record in the NBA Finals and I get it, we should hold him accountable like anybody else if he doesn’t get the job done. Then again, when you put his numbers into context, it’s hard to say that he’s the one to blame for those losses.
As a matter of fact, this is the first time that a LeBron James-led team has been favored to win the NBA Finals since 2013, meaning he lost 4 Finals that he was actually supposed to lose.
But if you’re still not convinced of LeBron James’ dominance in the playoffs, let’s take a look at where he ranks all-time in plenty stats:

- Steals: 1st
- Three-pointers: 2nd
- Triple-doubles: 2nd
- Assists: 3rd
You can dislike LeBron as a person. You can even argue that his style doesn’t suit you, or that he’s not the best player of all time. What you can’t do is deny greatness.
