Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic are two of the NBA’s premier stars, both perennially in the MVP conversation and leading their teams to victories almost single-handedly.

On the court, they are rivals, playing for different Western Conference teams. But off of it, Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic are good friends, as became evident again during All-Star Weekend.

Luka Doncic and his girlfriend, Anamaria Goltes, were the only two non-family members present at Nikola Jokic’s birthday party.

The picture shows Nikola Jokic’s brothers and family, along with Luka Doncic and his girlfriend. The two shared some fun moments during All-Star Break as well, already drawing attention to their lovely friendship with one another.

And fans noticed this, with some reactions on Twitter just appreciating how close the two stars seem to be, while others speculating about them potentially playing together in the future.

“They gon play together 4sho,” said one fan.

“If they teamed up Yugoslavia would reinstate itself. Like the borders would just dissipate,” another fan had a political quip to make.

Some additional speculation about a potential move saw a fan even flesh out the details, saying, “Soooo… Kyrie bout to get traded to Denver in the off-season after Jokic wins MVP but gets first rounded?”

And someone put it extremely simply saying, “If them two ever team up that would be scary.”

Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic are both triple-double machines. They would be a nightmare to deal with on offense, they are impossible to handle even by themselves. And it’s hard to think of any other outcome to that scenario than them winning the championship. The saving grace is that they are likely too proud to team up, although Jokic has been very complimentary of Luka’s game.

Nikola Jokic Called Luka Doncic A ‘One-Man Army’

Luka Doncic is expected to finally be able to make waves in the playoffs having gotten Kyrie Irving as his co-star. But he doesn’t necessarily need that much help either, as Jokic’s recent praise made clear

“He’s a one-man army,” Jokic explained. “He’s the guy who can destroy you. Who can really man manipulate the game the right way. There is no good matchup for him. If he has a smaller guy, he’s gonna post him up. If he has a bigger guy, he’s gonna go by him. He has a deadly step-back.”

Watching these two together would certainly be incredible for any fan of basketball. But most of us would like to watch them go head-to-head as they try to win themselves. Whatever the situation, it seems evident that the two will remain great friends off the court.
