Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic was Santa Claus for around 50 children as he spread Christmas cheer to the pediatric patients at the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital

The 23-year-old brightened the children’s faces when he distributed clothes and toys in a special event made possible by his foundation. While he couldn’t be there in person as he was gearing up for a clash against the Cleveland Cavaliers, his girlfriend, Anamaria Goltes, was present and took part in the activities.

According to TMZ, the healthcare workers had come goodies coming their way as well. They received tickets to the Mavericks vs. Los Angeles Lakers Christmas day game. The report also added that the guard has more plans to help out next week for around 150 kids in Slovenia.

Luka Doncic On His Surprise: “I Hope This Makes Them Happy”

The Dallas Mavericks star started off his efforts to give back to the community last year, and that saw him earn a nomination for the NBA Cares Community Assist Award Last Year.

Speaking to TMZ this time, there was a sense of joy in Doncic’s tone as he expressed his joy in making the children smile.

“I hope this makes them happy and puts a smile on their face. They are so brave and strong, and I want them to know I’m thinking of them during the holidays and wishing them all the best in the New Year!”

On the season front, Dallas has had a bumpy ride despite Doncic’s mammoth run. At the time of writing, he’s averaging 33.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 8.7 assists. His 30 points against the Cavaliers weren’t enough, as the latter registered a 107-90 win to put the Mavericks at 14-14 and ninth in the East.

The Mavericks will look to make some moves during the trade window and add another superstar alongside Doncic amid speculations of his departure from the franchise should they fail to add the right pieces around him. In the meantime, they take on Portland Trail Blazers next, followed by another round against the Cavaliers.
