Michael Jordan turned 60 and his birthday party thrown by his wife Yvette Prieto was a memorable and star-studded event. And sharing some brilliant pictures from the evening was former Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

Over the years, Johnson and Jordan have gone on from becoming rivals on the court to being good friends off of it, and it was only fair that the two got together to celebrate the latter’s birthday.

Taking to Twitter, Johnson shared a few images that saw happy faces all around and a positively beaming Jordan. The Lakers star also added in his tweet that it was one of the best parties that he and his wife Cookie had ever been to.

Happy birthday to my brother, the legendary Michael Jordan! Michael’s wife Yvette threw him an amazing 60th birthday party and one of the best parties Cookie and I have ever been to! We sang and danced all night.

He further added that there were enough star attractions that included the UNC Marching Band, Adam Levine, and DJ D-Nice.

The UNC marching band was there, DJ D-Nice did his thing and had us up on our feet, Adam Levine performed all of his hits, and the drone show blew all of our minds!

It goes without saying that Yvette left nothing to chance to make sure her husband had a wonderful birthday. And a look at Johnson’s pictures shows he and everyone else had a good time.

Magic Johnson Once Revealed He Couldn’t Smoke, Drink, Or Gamble Like Michael Jordan

Magic Johnson knows where to give credit when it’s due and one of them was admiring Jordan for his pyrotechnics despite his off-court activities.

Speaking to Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, when the analyst revealed that MJ could play golf, smoke cigars, gamble, and still take care of his opponents on the court, Johnson was candid:

[Michael Jordan] was the strongest – not basketball player – athlete I’ve ever seen, because he could do just what you said. If I tried to do that, I’d be 0 for 15, no assists, I’d be dragging [laughs]. And he tried to get me to do it with him right, during [our stint on] the Dream Team. [He said,] ‘MJ, MJ!’ I said, ‘What’s up?’ [He said,] ‘Come on and hang with me.’ I said, ‘Mike I can’t hang until 4 o’clock. You have your drinks, get up, go play 18 rounds of golf, sleep for an hour and then come and get 30 by halftime. I can’t do that. I can’t do that. I know who I am.’

Needless to say, they may not have played for the same team, and have had their share of rivalry when they played, but they do have a better relationship.

Here’s wishing the Bulls legend a happy birthday, and many more to come in the next few years.
