Stephen Curry has continued to stay in form throughout the 2022-23 NBA season. Curry showed his class once again when the Golden State Warriors faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Steph ended up scoring 50 points but still ended up on the losing side. Following the loss, the Warriors dropped to a 36-34 record. Keeping that in mind, NBA analyst Nick Wright recently shared that he believes Curry won’t be able to carry the Warriors to the 2023 NBA Championship.

“It’s a disaster,” Wright said of Curry’s 50-point performance. “That’s why it’s a problem, bro because Steph was great. Can we give you some context? When Steph’s great, how do the Warriors typically do?”

Wright revealed that Steph has had 62 40+ points games in his career. In those games, the Warriors were 48-8 in the first 13 seasons of his career. On the other hand, this season, the Warriors are 3-3 in those games.

“They might miss the playoffs. … The Warriors are going to fall into the play-in, and the idea that they are just a lock [for the postseason], we saw them lose back-to-back.

Nick Wright firmly believes that the Warriors will fall out of the sixth seed in the Western Conference and be in the play-in tournament when the season is done and dusted.

Can The Warriors Still Clinch A Permanent Spot In The Playoffs?

The Golden State Warriors are currently the sixth seed in the Western Conference. Theoretically, the Warriors will clinch a seed in the playoffs if they can stay as the sixth seed or better.

However, looking at the Warriors’ subpar road record this season, there are many doubts about that. The Dubs currently have a 7-27 record on the road.

On the other hand, they have a great record at home. So fans are extremely divided about what to expect from the team come playoff time.

Stephen Curry has been playing as great as humanly possible for him over the last few games, but will that be enough for the Warriors? We will find out in the coming weeks.
