The Golden State Warriors fell to their 9th consecutive loss on the road in a battle with the Los Angeles Clippers where Stephen Curry stole the show.

Fans were furious that the game ended 126-134 in the Clippers’ favor despite Stephen Curry having a sensational 50-point performance.

One fan said, “A historic performance from Curry but once again the Warriors’ issues make it null and void smh. The defensive issues continue, the shot-making outside of Steph stays inconsistent and the bench continues to struggle on both ends. This team looks cooked.”

One fan lamented bad refereeing, “I don’t know how you watch this game and think the refs don’t treat the Warriors unfairly. NO FT’s. Steph driving every time and not getting a call. Generational talent is disrespected. FOH.”

A fan mocked the Warriors’ road record, “Warriors on the road this season.”

Another fan was upset at Draymond Green being the only proper frontcourt defender to match up with Ivica Zubac, “Draymond battling his ass off but he’s 6 inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter than Zubac. Tf we expect him to do? Warriors need to go get some frontcourt help ASAP..”

Another fan complained about the referees, “Steph Curry gets the worst whistle of any star in the NBA and it’s not particularly close.”

One fan harped on Curry’s insane layups, “Steph Curry just made every single impossible layup.”

Curry’s second-best teammate was Jordan Poole with 19 points, as Klay Thompson struggled in a 15-point outing. The Clippers were led by a red-hot Kawhi Leonard, who scored 30 points. Paul George, Ivica Zubac, Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon, and Terance Mann all scored over 15 points in a dominant offensive showing.

This was Curry’s 7th 50-point game since turning 30, tying Michael Jordan for the second-most 50-point games at that age, still trailing Wilt Chamberlain who had 9.

Can The Warriors Overcome Their Road Struggles?

After this loss, Golden State is 7-27 on the road and plays 7 of their remaining 12 games away from home. They are on a 9-game losing streak on the road and play the Atlanta Hawks in Atlanta next. This is a very worrying trend for a team that is unlikely to enjoy a home-court advantage in the playoffs.

Production from Stephen Curry is almost guaranteed but it’s a question of their defense holding up. They gave up 134 points today and allowed 6 players to have 15+ points on them. This is unacceptable for a team with championship aspirations and needs to be addressed.

They will play the Hawks on Friday without Draymond Green, their best defender. Green picked up his 16th technical foul of the season,r resulting in an automatic 1-game suspension which will be served against Atlanta. Another loss will endanger their position as a top-six seed, so the team has to compete as hard as ever.
