J.R. Smith was one of the most exciting shooting guards in the NBA during his prime in the 2010s, effortlessly dunking the ball and being relied on as a floor-spacer.
Hardcore fans of the NBA know that Smith was one of the most colorful characters in the league. He will now have a four-part docuseries about his life produced by Maverick Carter and LeBron James.

He ended up winning 2 championships on teams led by LeBron James, playing an integral role in the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers title and being a bench warmer on the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers.
Smith was drafted in 2004 and started his career with the New Orleans Hornets, playing alongside a rookie Chris Paul as a sophomore. He went on to become an integral role player for the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers and becoming an NBA Champion. He joined the Lakers for the 2020 bubble and picked up another ring despite barely playing.
LeBron James Takes Another Step Into Media Production
LeBron James has been producing a lot of movies and shows since moving to Los Angeles. Space Jam 2 is easily the most high-profile example. His production company with Maverick Carter, UNINTERRUPTED, has been a useful tool for James to continue dipping his fingers into the media world.
Smith and LeBron have been long-time teammates and are good friends off the court. If anyone was going to make Smith’s incredibly interesting life into a docuseries, it was going to be LeBron alongside his old friend and business partner Maverick Carter.
The release date of this new project is unknown, but fans will be eagerly waiting for it to drop.
