- Anthony Davis received a contract extension worth $186 million over three years from the Los Angeles Lakers
- NBA fans are pleased with the outcome, with many saying it was expected
- Some fans have questioned whether Anthony Davis is worth that type of contract
Adrian Wojnarowski dropped a major ‘Woj Bomb’ earlier when he announced that the Los Angeles Lakers have agreed terms with Anthony Davis on a new contract extension.
The franchise is choosing to invest in Davis, giving him $186 million over three years on his new extension, which works out to $62 million every year. In total, Davis is now owed about $270 million for the next five years. And NBA fans have a lot to say about it.

A lot of fans seem happy about it and expect big things from him despite him only playing in 56 games last season. There seems to be a lot of optimism about how he might perform.

Naturally, there are some comparisons to Jaylen Brown, who recently signed the richest deal in NBA history.

And there are those people that still doubt his ability to be available too, the critics haven’t gone anywhere.

Ultimately, it will be up to Anthony Davis to prove people right or wrong, the only thing that can be said for sure is that he got the bag.
Anthony Davis’ Injury Issues Are Overstated At Times
It was to be expected that the first thing which would happen when Anthony Davis got his extension would be that people would talk about whether he deserved it. And there is no denying that he missed 26 games last season and 42 games the year before.
However, a lot of it has to do with the way the NBA is these days, Anthony Davis has missed fewer games than Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Kyrie Irving in the last seven seasons. And when he has been available, he has averaged over 21.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game in all of those seasons.
Anthony Davis has truly gotten himself paid, no one can deny this. Only time will tell if he is worth the money or not. For better or worse, Davis is going to be a Laker for the coming five years. Unless he is traded, of course.
