The Golden State Warriors have been once again crowned as the champions of the NBA. They have won their first ring since the 2017-18 NBA season. But this marks their fourth ring since 2015. If this isn’t a dynasty, then what is?
In their 2022 NBA Championship run, many players played a crucial role. As usual, Stephen Curry took care of the scoring and assumed the role of the best player on the team. Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins were the best defensive players for the franchise.
Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole occasionally took over the game when Steph or Wiggs struggled. But if there was someone who had zero contributions towards this title, it was James Wiseman.
The second overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft was sidelined for this entire season. Despite that, he will get a ring and can say that he is now an NBA champion.
Wiseman is obviously aware of the fact that he didn’t play a role in the Warriors’ 2022 championship run, but if you look at his Instagram, it feels like he was the best player on the team.
The Warriors’ big man posed with the Larry O’Brien in the iconic Kobe Bryant pose. You know what we are talking about. Of course, this didn’t sit well with NBA fans.

Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma did something similar when he won the 2020 NBA Championship while playing for the L.A. Lakers, and he quickly became a meme. Now, Wiseman is following in his footsteps as he was thoroughly roasted by NBA fans on social media.

It should be NBA tradition…that a player who didn’t do anything all season take a picture like this 😂😂😂

There is nothing wrong with copying the celebration style of your idols. But the issue here was that Wiseman’s impact was literally zero in the Dubs’ title rune.
At the end of the day, he is an NBA champion, whether you love it or hate it. Maybe next season, he will be back at his full strength and help the Dubs win another ring.
