The NBA is set to release the full schedule for the 2022/23 season this Wednesday, but we already know some interesting matchups that will draw the most attention around the community. Besides the Opening Day matches and the Christmas Day duels, we’ll see some spicy duels around the league in the first days of competition.

One duel that looked like a normal one before this offseason involved the Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks, two things with different aspirations for the upcoming season, but with two players that recently started beefing on and off the court.

In case you don’t know, Paolo Banchero and Dejounte Murray played against each other in a Pro-Am tournament, where things got chirpy between them. Once good friends, these two engaged in a verbal war on social media, exchanging jabs on Instagram after that game

That’s why many fans pushed the narrative of a rivalry between these two, and the league appears to be watching the things being said on social media. Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports recently reported that the first duel between the Magic and Hawks will take place on October 21, just a couple of days after the tip-off of the new season.

“Atlanta Hawks will host the Orlando Magic on Oct. 21, which will highlight the first meeting between star guard Dejounte Murray and the No. 1 pick Paolo Banchero,” Haynes tweeted.

Fans know that this duel is much more important than before, and didn’t hesitate to give their opinion on this. While some laughed and joked, saying that the commissioner knows everything that happens around the league, others said they are just trying to make something bigger of a normal situation.

Beef or not, fans are excited to see what Paolo Banchero can bring to the table once he makes his debut in the league. The Magic has an interesting young core that could compete for big things in the future, but now it’s time to see how their young pieces work together and dream about the future later.
