To say that Game 1 of the first-round series between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings didn’t disappoint would be an understatement.

It was an absolute thriller of a contest with some absurd shot making, and it was the Kings who would eventually come out on top 126-123. NBA fans reacted to the Warriors falling just short in this one.

A fan thinks Stephen Curry isn’t great in the clutch after he missed the shot, which could have sent the game to overtime.

A fan hilariously compared De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk to Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant for how well they played in this one.

A fan praised the Kings for not being scared and taking it to the Warriors here.

Another fan thinks that this is the only game that the Kings will win in this series as he expects the Warriors to respond.

A fan simply wants seven games in this series as he was in awe of what he saw on the court.

The Warriors had led for much of this game but then got a taste of their own medicine. The Kings went on a 15-4 run to close out the third quarter and led 91-90 entering the fourth.

The fourth would then see both teams trade blows in what was one of the most entertaining quarters of basketball we’ve seen in a while. Every time you felt one team had seized control, the other would respond with another huge shot, but in the end, it was the Kings who came out on top in the clutch, as they seemingly have done all season. They had De’Aaron Fox, a finalist for Clutch Player of the Year, to thank for that once again, as he finished with a game-high 38 points and the Warriors had no answer for him. His co-star Domantas Sabonis struggled, finishing with 12 points on 5-17 shooting, but Malik Monk stepped up and scored 32 points of his own to make up for it.

Stephen Curry, meanwhile, finished the night with 30 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. He had a chance to send the game to overtime, as mentioned earlier, but missed the potential game-tying three-pointer. He had hit some big shots in the fourth quarter before that but couldn’t get it done at that moment.

Warriors-Kings Looks Set To Be A Series For The Ages

If this game was any indicator of how the rest of the series is going to go, then every neutral out there would be hoping it goes the distance. There is just so much firepower on both sides, and this series is going to be a great watch. While the Kings got the win here, the Warriors won’t be feeling too low about how things panned out.

They were so bad on the road in the regular season but showed here that they can hang with the Kings in Sacramento. The Warriors would fancy their chances of stealing Game 2, and the Kings will have to play better than they did here if they are to preserve home-court advantage.
