Dwyane Wade Jokes About Missing 3PT Shots At Halftime Of Summer League Game: “1/5 Sounds About Right. I Was A 29% 3PT Shooter In My Career.”

Dwyane Wade has an ownership stake in the Utah Jazz, and it seems as though he is fully committed to being an active part of the team. Dwyane Wade was recently spotted at a Utah Jazz Summer League game, watching a matchup against the Mavericks.

It seems as though Dwyane Wade wanted to test his shooting skills during halftime and get in on some of the basketball action by taking 3PT shots. Wade was never known as the best shooter during his career, and even though he made one of the shots, that wasn’t the same for his other attempts.

Dwyane Wade went on the court during halftime to put up some corner 3s, intent on not walking away til he made one. … He was there for a bit longer than he planned, an airball, and a shot off the side of the backboard to his credit.

Just saw @DwyaneWade at #NBASummerLeague. Signed autographs for kids at halftime and took some photos. Then 5 three point attempts from the corner. One airball. One side of the backboard. Money ball swish.

While he may have missed those shots from range, it is quite likely that Dwyane Wade is still a capable shooter. However, Dwyane Wade himself jokingly admitted that his long-range shotmaking wasn’t the best, and pointed to the fact that he was a 29% 3PT shooter for the duration of his career. Everyone has flaws as a player, and Dwyane Wade was extremely effective during his playing career even if he wasn’t the best shooter.

1/5 sounds about right. I was a 29 percent 3 pointer shooter in my career😂 https://t.co/pTW9hlyq53

Some of the Utah Jazz players had some fun roasting Dwyane Wade about his shooting. Donovan Mitchell and Eric Paschall were both joking around with Dwyane Wade on Twitter, with Dwyane Wade responding in kind.

Damn @DwyaneWade hate to see it 🤦🏾‍♂️ https://t.co/oXq1vrWtql

Nah it did look crazy tho @DwyaneWade he snitched on you! 😂😂😂 https://t.co/mkvKZiECqQ

— Eric Paschall (@epaschall) August 12, 2021

Ask @spidadmitchell about my 3 ball. Didn’t I win 3 out of 5 spots 😆 🤷🏾‍♂️ https://t.co/k4Dduom1EB

It is certainly great to see Dwyane Wade joke around about his shooting, and he clearly knows that he wasn’t a top-tier marksman in the league. However, he would likely still be able to shoot really well in another setting, like most NBA players. He may have bricked four shots at halftime, but it is likely that Wade would be able to hit those shots if he was really zoned in and trying to make it. Dwyane Wade with a 3PT shot would be an even better player than he was, but unfortunately, we won’t get to see that unfold.
