James Harden: “I Want To Be In Brooklyn For The Rest Of My Career”

James Harden’s trade to the Brooklyn Nets caused a lot of controversy around the league. The former Houston Rockets superstar gave birth to a super team by teaming up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving last season.

He fits like a perfect piece on the roster and had an exceptional year. The only concern that the Nets fans have is about Harden’s future with the team. While his teammate Kevin Durant has already signed a contract extension, Harden is yet to commit.

Well, the former MVP finally broke his silence about his contract extension with the Nets. Fortunately, it is good news for the Nets fans.

“Honestly, I’m just going to take my time. I’m focused on trying to bring a championship to the city. But as far as an extension, I’m just being patient with it. I went through a lot last year and I want to make sure I’m in the right mind set and knowing long-term that ultimately I want to be in Brooklyn for the rest of my career. So it’s no rush.”

He further added “It’s not about the money to me. I’m been on enough teams where we fell short, so my mindset and my goal is to make sure that we’re able to build this team to be able to compete and contend for multiple, multiple years at the highest level so it’s not about the money. If you win a championship in New York, the money will come.”

The Nets are one of the best teams in the league, there are no two ways to look at it. The organization’s last season was ruined due to injury troubles, which they will be hoping aren’t repeated in the 2021-22 NBA season.

Moreover, if the trio of Irving, Durant, and Harden stay together in the near future, the Nets are expected to most certainly win an NBA championship.

There is hardly any team that can go toe to toe with this roster when healthy. The only team that even comes close to the Nets in the eyes of most fans and pundits is the Los Angeles Lakers, which obviously will be the perfect matchup for the 2022 NBA Finals.
