Kendrick Perkins sparked many reactions on social media after making a really hot take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. The Milwaukee Bucks won a big game against the Atlanta Hawks behind Middleton’s 38 points (20 in the 4th) and Giannis’ 33 points.
Although both players had a magical night, Perkins sided with Middleton out of nowhere, calling him the Batman of the Bucks, while Giannis is the Robin. All of this after only one game.
Of course, this didn’t sit well with fans. They went after Perkins for this take after only one match, with people calling him out over his recency bias.
Middleton is Batman in the 4th quarter in closing situation. Because he is the better shooter. Like Kyrie was for LeBron, like Horry was for Shaq, like Bibby was for CWebb. But overall Giannis is the real Franchise Player, he put too much pressure on the other team cause dominate

Come on man just because Middleton took over doesn’t mean he’s the Batman of the team stop hating man
— Paolo (@PaoloAmponsah) June 28, 2021
What !!where the hell were u when Middleton was shooting 6-23??? He just has one good game and u calling him the batman.Giannis is literally giving you 30-12 every night but because he does it regularly u don't give him the respect
— Rishabh Singh (@RishabhRs17) June 28, 2021
You only say this whenever he had a good game and it’s ridiculous. Where was this energy last game? Or the one before that?

Returning home after a week, ATL went straight home and had some boom boom time with their wives or gfs, weak legs in the 4th
Only reason

Perk u usually have good takes but this one of your worst ones yet lol

Perk throwing anything to the wall, see what sticks. Have he not watched the games prior to this? Giannis was terrific leading to this game, and because KM had an amazing game, now he’s the batman. carry on.

Was Penny Hardaway considered better than Shaq because he got the ball in late-game situations? Did LeBron lose all his credibility for letting Kyrie take that shot in 2016 vs the Warriors? No. Giannis is a generational player. Middleton is amazing in the clutch. Just let it be

DPOY, former MVP, set the league single season PER record, and he’s the Robin. Perk is a halfwit and his analysis is consistently awful. Why ESPN keeps paying this man for his “insight” into hoops is ridiculous. Middleton is a stud, but they’re not where they are without Giannis.

-without Giannis they're a lottery team…see the difference

It’s ok to call Middleton the closer but Giannis is consistently the Batman

Middleton is a great player, no doubt about it. No. 22 is a great second scorer for the Bucks, but he’s not putting good numbers as often as Giannis. He is a closer, and nobody can deny that, but putting him above Giannis for that is too much.
Khris Middleton is the first Bucks player with 20 points in a 4th quarter of a playoff game over the last 25 postseasons. The only other Bucks player with 20 points in any playoff quarter over the last 25 postseasons? Khris Middleton, done last year. pic.twitter.com/Fo0avas5kZ

His game has reached new levels this postseason, and he’s taken care of business in the fourth quarter. Per DJ Siddiqi of Forbes, this postseason, Middleton is taking the second-most shot attempts of any player (4.2 attempts) in crunch time. The only player ahead of him is none other than Kevin Durant.
As great as this sounds, it’s still not enough to put Khris ahead of the Greek Freak. He and Jrue Holiday have stepped up as the second-best players of the team this postseason, and their help has been vital for the Bucks.
Khris is unconscious:

Still, this team is and will be Giannis’ for many years to come.
