Kendrick Perkins Says Khris Middleton Is Batman, Giannis Antetokounmpo Is Robin

2 Min Read

Kendrick Perkins sparked many reactions on social media after making a really hot take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton. The Milwaukee Bucks won a big game against the Atlanta Hawks behind Middleton’s 38 points (20 in the 4th) and Giannis’ 33 points.

Although both players had a magical night, Perkins sided with Middleton out of nowhere, calling him the Batman of the Bucks, while Giannis is the Robin. All of this after only one game.

Of course, this didn’t sit well with fans. They went after Perkins for this take after only one match, with people calling him out over his recency bias.

Middleton is a great player, no doubt about it. No. 22 is a great second scorer for the Bucks, but he’s not putting good numbers as often as Giannis. He is a closer, and nobody can deny that, but putting him above Giannis for that is too much.

His game has reached new levels this postseason, and he’s taken care of business in the fourth quarter. Per DJ Siddiqi of Forbes, this postseason, Middleton is taking the second-most shot attempts of any player (4.2 attempts) in crunch time. The only player ahead of him is none other than Kevin Durant.

As great as this sounds, it’s still not enough to put Khris ahead of the Greek Freak. He and Jrue Holiday have stepped up as the second-best players of the team this postseason, and their help has been vital for the Bucks.

Still, this team is and will be Giannis’ for many years to come.
