Patrick Beverley hasn’t forgotten about what Russell Westbrook said of him a couple of years ago. The Minnesota Timberwolves point guard has made some ‘enemies’ during his NBA tenure, but his rivalry with Russ is one of the most intense.

Westbrook isn’t having the best season with the Los Angeles Lakers, earning a lot of criticism from fans and analysts alike. The former NBA MVP is struggling to find his touch with the Purple and Gold, and many folks have urged the Lakers to ship him away to turn things around.

As the trade deadline is approaching, many have remembered Russ, including Beverley. The Timberwolves player took to Twitter to recall the time Westbrook said he tricked people, taking a big shot at Brodie.

I remember when somebody said all I do is run around and I trick y’all well my boy is The Real Magician this year.

Back in 2019, after a heated encounter between Bev and Russ, the latter criticized the then Los Angeles Clippers player, saying he wasn’t a defender and everything he did was running around the court, finessing people.

“Pat Bev trick y’all, man, like he playing defense,” Westbrook said at the time. “He don’t guard nobody, man. He just running around, doing nothing.”

There’s no love between these two. Before that moment, Beverley and Westbrook had to be separated by the police during a Thunder-Clippers game in 2018. The bad blood dates from many years ago, with both players waiting for an opportunity to attack each other.

This time, Bev had the last laugh, but Westbrook will be ready to get his revenge the next time they see each other on the court. Will that be with the Los Angeles Lakers? We have to wait until after the trade deadline strikes.
