For as bad as the NBA community was clowning PG13 last year, he has certainly stepped up to the plate in 2021, leading the Clippers to yet another victory in the absence of Kawhi Leonard.
Tonight, he joined elite company, becoming just one of four players to drop at least 20 points in each of their first 18 playoff games.

Anytime you’re included in a stat with Jordan, Kobe, and KD< you know you’ve done something good. The best thing for PG, though, is that it’s coming at just the right time.
Now just 6 wins away from a Championship, George is finding his stride and keeping his team competitive without Kawhi — proving to the doubters and naysayers that he’s not the playoff choker they claimed he was.
While the job is not yet finished, and much still needs to play out, Paul George has proved himself as a true star in the league, and somebody teams can count on in the clutch.
Compare that to last year, when he was the center of criticism, and it makes for one fantastic story of growth and redemption. We’ll see soon enough if it also becomes the story of an NBA Championship.
