Tobias Harris Believes Joel Embiid Will Win The 2021-22 MVP Award

Joel Embiid is one of the best centers in the game, and despite the fact that he missed out on the MVP award last season, many do in fact consider him the best at his position. Joel Embiid is great on both ends, and it’s clear that he has an array of ways in which he can score. He is an MVP-caliber player who can be the focal point of his team on both ends.

While Embiid may have missed out on the MVP award in 2020-21, Tobias Harris believes that Joel Embiid will be able to win the award in the upcoming season. In an interview with TrashTalkProduction, Harris talked a little about Embiid’s game and what makes him so dominant, while stating his belief in his teammate’s MVP chances. (16:00)

He went into the year with a huge chip on his shoulder… With Doc as well, under that. He was like alright. He saw the first couple games, how the flow of the team was going and how we wanted to play. He was like “Wow, I can be dominant out there. So, this is what I’m gonna do on a daily basis”. He took that and ran with it. You just saw him expand his game…

I think he’s going to be the MVP this year.

It is clear that Joel Embiid was confident in his MVP chances in 2021, stating that he had “no doubt” about it and that he was “dominant all season”. While the voters ended up awarding MVP to another deserving candidate in Nikola Jokic, he still has a chance to win the award in the future.

It remains to be seen whether Joel Embiid will end up winning MVP, or whether it will be yet another season for him where he is looked over for the award. What’s certain though, is that Joel Embiid will try his best to bring his teams to wins by being dominant, and at the end of the day, that’s all anyone can ask for.
