NBA Rumors: Lakers Interested In Trading For Mo Bamba

1 Min Read

With Anthony Davis set to miss a chunk of the season, you can expect the L.A. Lakers to be active in their pursuit of a trade.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, the Purple and Gold could be targeting Magic Orlando big man, Mo Bamba, to strengthen their frontcourt.

Bamba is in and out of the rotation, playing in just 12 games this season. Bamba is 22 and the Knicks looked to trade up in that draft to get the former Texas Longhorns star. The Lakers also reportedly have interest.

In just his third season, Bamba is a raw prospect with loads of untapped potential. In Texas, he averaged 12.9 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game on 54% shooting.

It remains to be seen how his game will translate to the NBA, but he is a big upside, low-risk acquisition that could help the Lakers in their Championship chase.

He brings size, defense, and rebounding to a team that needs it, especially with Davis in and out of the lineup.

But will the Lakers be willing to give up what it takes to get him?
