Julius Randle Wants To Win A Championship With The Knicks: “That’s My Dream. A Picture Perfect Thing For Me.”

The New York Knicks have been a team in the gutter for what feels like an eternity. As dysfunction plagued the franchise from all corners, losses and misery followed, leaving behind a team with a ruined reputation and virtually no hope of contention.

But this season, the Knickerbockers have put together a surprising campaign. Behind the play of young stud Julius Randle, they sit 6th in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 14-15.

And while nobody knows what the future holds in store for the team, there is a lot of optimism about their path forward, and Julius Randle seems committed to helping create better days ahead.

“I knew where we were starting at,” Randle said, per Sopan Deb of The New York Times. “I knew the challenge I had when I signed here. I signed here with the hopes of being here long term. I want to be one of the guys that’s part of this team and eventually, hopefully, we are competing for championships and winning championships. That’s my dream. A picture perfect thing for me.”

It’s too early to tell if this season is a fluke or a sign of something more, but there certainly seems to be a culture shift in the locker room.

With new head coach Tom Thibodeau at the helm, and Julius helping to lead the charge, the Knicks could be headed towards something special. At this point, we’ll just have to wait and see.
