The Brooklyn Nets have been at the center of a lot of controversy over the last few weeks. The situation surrounding Kyrie Irving’s vaccination status has garnered a lot of attention, with many questioning how Kyrie’s decision to not get vaccinated will affect the Nets.

Yesterday, the Nets announced that they have decided not to involve Kyrie Irving in the team in any capacity until he gets vaccinated. While they respect his right to decide, they cannot have a player, especially of his caliber, coming in and out of the team because of the vaccination requirements of different cities.

So far, Kevin Durant has signed an extension with the Brooklyn Nets, locking down his long-term future with the franchise. But James Harden hasn’t done so and has suggested that he will want to test free agency for the first time in his career. Losing Harden could be a big blow for the Nets, and put them at risk of KD asking for a trade.

And it appears that the Nets need to be careful, as an old friend of Harden’s is keeping tabs on his situation. Stephen A. Smith mentioned on First Take that he has heard that Daryl Morey is looking for a way to trade for James Harden and bring him to Philly, and given Brooklyn’s Kyrie situation, it could actually happen.

“Now you might lose James Harden because Daryl Morey is lurking in Philadelphia. Don’t think for one second that Daryl Morey ain’t trying to get his hands on James Harden.I’m telling you what I know”

According to @stephenasmith, Daryl Morey is monitoring Harden’s situation in BK

Losing Irving will be a big loss for the Nets, as he is a superstar in the NBA. While the Nets have two other superstars in Kevin Durant and James Harden, what made the Nets the standout favorite to win the championship was their incredible trio.

For the Nets, their hopes now rest on James Harden and Kevin Durant. The duo is still playing at the highest level, and their presence, despite Kyrie’s absence, will still make them one of the best teams in the NBA and keep them in contention for the NBA championship. But if Harden leaves Brooklyn, that could spell doom for the franchise.
