Ever since Anthony Davis was traded to the Mavericks, the former Lakers player has been very inactive on his social media. But his recent stories on Instagram have sparked a concern among fans that the Mavericks’ star may be facing emotional issues in Dallas.

Davis went on Instagram recently and posted a cryptic message that seems to be unsettling for the Mavericks’ fans.

“A man who doesn’t care anymore was once a man who cared too much,” read the message on his story.

He also posted two emojis in a cryptic message just a day before this, showing Davis is not happy about something.

NBA fans saw these stories and took to social media to express their concerns about Anthony Davis. They sympathized with the Mavericks star who had imagined his long-term future would be with the Lakers until this February.

“This hurts my soul omfg.”

“My dawg is still mad af he got traded.”

“Idk what he’s going through but I feel him on this fr.”

“His injury is bad. This is him giving up.”

Some Lakers fans also expressed how much they missed him in LA and wanted him back on their team.

“Please say you’re getting traded back to the Lakers for Rui and Gabe.”

“I miss him.”

“Bring my demon home.”

Various such reactions flooded the internet as Davis recovers from his retina detachment surgery that he underwent earlier this July. He only played in nine games for the Mavericks this regular season, where he averaged 20.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists.

Before his trade to the Mavericks, Davis publicly admitted that he had asked the Lakers front office to bring on a traditional center so he could play in the power forward position, which he prefers. Just days after this request was made public, Davis was traded to the Mavericks.

Therefore, some fans believe that this is not a sad message, but rather a warning to the Lakers about who they missed out on, and now he’s not going to involve himself in the politics of a team, but rather focus on improving his game.

“Mavs winning the championship next season, lock it in.”

“MVP season, come on!”

“DPOY AD next season.”

Only Anthony Davis can clarify what he really meant by these messages. But one thing can be said for certain: a lot of eyes will be on Anthony Davis in this coming season, as his performance will determine whether the Mavericks’ front office made the right decision in trading their franchise player for him.
