The Golden State Warriors streak of seven straight wins came to an end tonight in a shock 105-114 loss to the Denver Nuggets. The Warriors had all their core players in their rotation while the Nuggets came into this game without Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Christian Braun. Nonetheless, they pulled this win out.
The Warriors saw Stephen Curry struggle en route to 20 points (6-21 FG) and seven assists, while Jimmy Butler led the team with 23 points (8-16 FG), eight rebounds, and six assists. Gary Payton II came off the bench for 18 points (8-10 FG) while Jonathan Kuminga had 13 points (4-11 FG). Draymond Green stuffed the stat sheet with 10 points (5-6 FG), six rebounds, five assists, three steals, and four blocks.
Warriors fans were shocked that the team couldn’t beat the shorthanded Nuggets given their fantastic form off late.

“Such a winnable game but Curry passing the ball to the fans instead of his teammates,” said one fan about Stephen Curry’s surprisingly high-turnover game.
“Embarrassing. I don’t care if the team’s won 14 of 16. Terrible performance. Worst game of the season relative to expectations. Aaron Gordon with 36!??!?!?!” said another shocked fan.
The Nuggets were led by Aaron Gordon’s 38 points (14-23 FG) and six rebounds. Michael Porter Jr. contributed 21 points (7-18 FG), 10 rebounds, and five assists, while Peyton Watson scored 13 points (5-8 FG) with five rebounds and four blocks. Russell Westbrook had a fat triple-double with 12 points (5-17 FG), 11 rebounds, and 16 assists.
The Warriors remain tied with the Minnesota Timberwolves for the No. 6 seed, having a slightly better record of 39-29 compared to the Wolves 40-30. The Nuggets capitalize on the Memphis Grizzlies‘ loss from earlier tonight and take over the No. 3 seed with a 44-25 record, tied for No. 2 with the Houston Rockets.
