Paul George was candid when he spoke about him and Kawhi Leonard wanting Russell Westbrook on the LA Clippers.

Speaking on Podcast P with Paul George, the Clippers star said he and Leonard loved getting Westbrook on board. “We traded our two point guards (John and Reggie), so we were like we really needed a point. I thought I could do it buts it’s a lot, especially if you got Jrue Holiday picking you up and you gotta create.”

The Clippers finally secured their first win after the 34-year-old guard joined the side. Westbrook and the Clippers were subject to trolls after they lost five games on the trot since Westbrook’s arrival.

However, they did break the shackles with a gutsy 135-129 win over the Memphis Grizzlies, and so far the relationship between the team’s big stars seems to have panned out well.

Russell Westbrook Believes The LA Clippers Are A Tough Team To Beat

In what comes as a supreme show of faith, Westbrook believed that the Clippers were a tough outfit to beat once they got some mojo.

Speaking to the media after their win, the explosive guard outlined his role with the side, while also sounding the warning gong to other teams.

“I already know,” Westbrook said of the team’s capabilities. “My job is to keep instilling confidence in Paul and Kawhi to do this every single night,” Westbrook said. “The rest of us do our part, we’re gonna be a hard team to stop.”

The Clippers have received Westbrook with open arms and he’s repaid them by putting the best possible version of him out there. With the initial games not going their way, it appeared as if the franchise made an error by adding Westbrook, but the result against the Grizzlies promises change to come.

For now, both parties are happy, and it remains to be seen if Westbrook can land his maiden championship with his new team.
