Forward Jimmy Butler managed to bring the Miami Heat to the NBA finals this season, and there’s no doubt that Butler has proven that he’s a superstar in the league. He is a two-way player, who is impactful in the biggest moments.
When he retires, there is no doubt that Jimmy Butler will be a Hall of Fame player due to his accomplishments in the game. Though that is considered a huge honor by many players, Jimmy Butler has previously claimed that he doesn’t care about the Hall of Fame. Recently, NBA legend Paul Pierce has claimed that this statement was disrespectful, noting that not every player gets in.
“You cannot disrespect the Hall of Fame. It is a hell of an honor. I mean, not everybody gets there… I think he’ll rethink it.” Pierce said.
"Based on [Jimmy Butler's] Playoff performances and stuff, he got the 2 Finals— yeah, he a Hall of Famer."
Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett discuss Jimmy's response when asked what it would mean for him to be elected into the HOF.

There is no question that Jimmy Butler will eventually be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Hopefully, we see him change his stance on the honor in the future, but nothing is for certain.
This season with the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler averaged 22.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 5.3 APG, while shooting 53.9% from the field. Though his regular season numbers are not those of a superstar player, he clearly elevates in the playoffs.
Skip Bayless Doesn’t Think Jimmy Butler Is A Hall Of Fame Player
Even though Jimmy Butler’s accomplishments should put him squarely in the Hall of Fame, there are some who doubt his credentials to be selected. In fact, Skip Bayless once claimed that if he has to “think twice” about whether Butler belongs, then he doesn’t have a place in the Hall.
“After these past 10 games, does he even belong in the Hall of Fame? If I have to think twice about it, you don’t belong in it,” said Skip Bayless. “He’s never been in the top 10 in MVP voting. He got one top-three vote, but it was a solitary, single vote.”
Though Skip Bayless clearly has high standards when it comes to the Hall of Fame, there are plenty of players that have made the Hall of Fame without ever getting an MVP vote. Jimmy Butler definitely has a place there, and it’ll be great to see him inducted once he retires.
