Russell Westbrook’s time with the Los Angeles Clippers hasn’t been the best for him or the team, which has gone 0-4 since they added the point guard on the buyout market.

The situation is actually worse for Westbrook, who has lost the last 14 games he has started.

Westbrook has been criticized a lot in the past for his performances, which pretty much caused his exit from the Los Angeles Lakers. The veteran point guard played better off the bench, making an impact for the Purple and Gold.

Perhaps that’s the approach Tyronn Lue needs to make him work better for the Clips, who look lost right now. They have lost hard-fought games against the Sacramento Kings but also suffered humbling losses against the Golden State Warriors.

Russell Westbrook Disrespected By Golden State Warriors’ Defenders

The Warriors showed their disrespect for Westbrook during Thursday night’s game, leaving him open beyond the 3-point line and messing with Russ’ head. Draymond Green explained that was the strategy to stop Westbrook

“The game plan worked for us tonight. We got Russ to miss some shots. I think when you have a game plan like that, I know everyone will always judge Russ’ jump shot—but what that does to you mentally is tough,” he said. “I think it was more mental than his shot. He’s been shooting the ball well. I think he’s shooting the three at 33 or 34 percent. But mentally, that can get tough. I thought we did a good job of sticking with the game plan, and we was able to muck it up on the defensive side. It ended up working out for us.”

Westbrook has received a lot of bad comments for his lack of shooting, and it seems like the Warriors wanted to cash in on that. He had a terrible game, scoring only 8 points, going 3-12 from the field, 0-5 from beyond the arc, and having a plus-minus of -10.

Russ knows his career is on the line right now. If he fails to help the Clippers win the NBA championship this season, perhaps his chances to sign with another team will be reduced significantly in the summer.
