Point guard Russell Westbrook was highly criticized this season during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, and many believed that he was the cause of the team’s issues on the season. However, he has been much better with the Los Angeles Clippers, particularly in the playoffs.

A recent Tweet from statistics account StatMuse revealed that Russell Westbrook currently leads the Los Angeles Clippers in total points, assists, steals, and blocks in the playoffs. It is clear that he has been elite on both ends of the floor for the team.

Even though at one point people thought that Russell Westbrook’s career in the NBA could be over, he has a lot left in the tank. It’ll be interesting to see how he performs next season, whether it is on the Los Angeles Clippers or on another team.

Russell Westbrook has put up 26.0 PPG, 7.5 RPG, and 7.3 APG for the Los Angeles Clippers in the playoffs, and it is clear that he has performed at an All-Star level against the Phoenix Suns. Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Clippers retain him, as he is clearly a good fit in their system.

Russell Westbrook Gives The Clippers Belief They Can Win Without Kawhi Leonard And Paul George

There is no doubt that Russell Westbrook has been crucial for the Los Angeles Clippers in the playoffs, as both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are out with injury. In fact, Ty Lue claimed that he is the reason the team believes they can win without their stars.

“It’s been phenomenal,” Lue said when asked about Westbrook’s energy. “Without Kawhi, without PG, he gives us the belief that we can win and he’s doing a good job with our young guys, instilling that confidence in those guys. Doing it by example but also talking to the guys. When he’s guarding KD (Kevin Durant), the blocked shots from behind, the rebounds, guarding (Devin) Booker, and just how hard he plays every single night. That’s the energy we need and he’s giving these young guys the belief that we can win.”

Russell Westbrook is one of the best floor raising stars in the league, and he is the reason that the Clippers have been remotely competitive in their last two games against the Suns. Hopefully, we see him continue to perform, and perhaps steal two wins to force a Game 7.
