Scoot Henderson is all set to be one of the hottest names in the 2023 NBA Draft, along with Brandon Miller. One of the two will be chosen as the No. 2 pick by the Charlotte Hornets, and the former comes with an interesting story ahead of the marquee draft.

In one of the Twitter posts doing the rounds, Henderson’s mother had to bring his birth certificate during his games to prove that he was the same age as the rest of the players.

The intriguing prospect looks league ready with his physical attributes and his skills. He took the G League route despite getting offers from multiple programs like Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Auburn, and Georgia.

He shot to prominence last year when he squared off against No. 1 prospect Victor Wembanyama when the G-League Ignite and Metropolitans 92 played an exhibition game. Henderson notched up 28 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists in Ignite’s 122-115 win.

Earlier, he was rated over Miller during pre-draft workouts. Per the latest report by Draft Express, Henderson left a much better impression with the Hornets than Miller. Only time will tell if he suits up with LaMelo Ball in the upcoming season.

Scoot Henderson Is Confident That He Will Thrive Alongside Damian Lillard

Soon after his workout with the Portland Trail Blazers, Henderson was confident that he would form a solid backcourt alongside Damian Lillard.

“Those guys have different games than me,” he said when speaking on other guards his size that played with Lillard. “Anywhere I go, I think I can fit in. I can do a lot of things on the floor and I think that’s the beauty about me and the beauty about being Scoot Henderson. I’m going to give 110 percent effort every time. I’m an attacker, I’m a facilitator and I can do a lot of things on the floor. I think I can fit in anywhere.”

Despite all the chatter around the Blazers reportedly planning to package their No. 3 pick, there remains a lot of uncertainty about who would finally land Henderson. But it’s easy to picture him showcasing his skills in a Blazers uniform next season.
