As the NBA Finals play out in epic fashion, the basketball world is patiently waiting for word on the ruling of Ja Morant’s most recent Instagram Live situation. After he was caught fishing a gun again, many believe the league will come down hard on the young point guard, but we won’t know for sure until the Finals are over.

Based on what we do know, Morant failed to learn his lesson the first time and his camp is now claiming the video featured a toy gun instead of a real one. Speaking on Undisputed, FOX Sports’ Shannon Sharpe went viral for his message to Ja, in which he did not hold back from the honest truth.

‘Here we are again. Ja Morant refuses to accept accountability for his actions. Again, it’s somebody else. Again, somebody from the back seat passed up a toy gun. What grown a— man you know play with toy guns and listens to NBA Young boy? The last person I know that played with a toy gun, it didn’t end well for them… again, Ja, just accept responsibility! You’ve got to accept responsibility for this stuff and stop trying to pass the buck.”

Morant finds himself in hot water not only for flashing a gun but for his behavior after getting caught. Instead of coming out with an apology and accepting full responsibility, he has been mostly silent as his team makes up excuses.

Now, there’s a very real danger that Morant’s availability will be jeopardized next season and his reputation may never be the same again.

Ja’s Future Is In Adam Silver’s Hands

Morant was suspended for 8 games in his first gun-relate incident, so we can expect a minimum of 25 games for this time. According to Adam Silver himself, there are still things we do not yet know about the situation and the official decision has been kept a closely-guarded secret.

“I think shortly after the NBA Finals, the league is going to announce something,” reported Shams Charania. “The NBA hasn’t spoken to Ja Morant about his suspension yet, they haven’t informed the PA exactly what the suspension will be. If anything this is an Adam Silver/Joe Dumars call. Those are the people, along with the rest of the league office, that will be deciding. But at the end of the day, it falls on Adam Silver…”

Expect a hefty suspension for Morant. Maybe this is what he needs to learn his lesson and change his ways. Maybe…
