After getting caught with a gun again on Instagram Live, the entire NBA world is waiting to see what the blowback will be for Grizzlies guard Ja Morant. The first time he did this, Adam Silver came down with an 8-game suspension assuming that Morant would never get caught in a situation like that again.

Of course, Morant couldn’t keep it together, and Silver is expected to come down extra harsh on the 2x All-Star. According to league insider Shams Charania, the announcement will not come until after the Finals, and not even Morant knows what the ruling will be.

“I think shortly after the NBA Finals, the league is going to announce something. The NBA hasn’t spoken to Ja Morant about his suspension yet, they haven’t informed the PA exactly what the suspension will be. If anything this is an Adam Silver/Joe Dumars call. Those are the people, along with the rest of the league office, that will be deciding. But at the end of the day, it falls on Adam Silver…”

There are still details we don’t yet know regarding the Morant situation and everything that was involved, but most experts agree that the punishment will be severe for no. 12. At this point, the question is not if Morant will be suspended but for how long he will be out as a result of this drama.

Ja Morant’s Future Is In Jeopardy

While Morant hasn’t technically hurt anybody with his antics on IG Live, it’s a bad look for a guy who is supposed to be one of the faces of the league. But Ja’s actions carry more weight than just his NBA career.

To be carrying a weapon like that implies that Morant is living a dangerous lifestyle, and there are many across the country who feel that the Memphis star may not be alive in five years if he keeps going down this dark path.

“People within the NBA community are not just concerned about Ja Morant playing basketball, they’re concerned whether or not he’s gonna be alive in five years because of the environments he finds himself around and the situations he finds himself confronted by,” said Stephen A. Smith. “It’s a serious matter and I think it’s something that the NBA and anybody who knows anything about the kind of things that are going on with him, needs to find themselves concerned about.”

It will be some time before we see how this latest saga plays out for Ja, but this isn’t the way any of us saw his career going when he was voted as an All-Star starter a few months ago. Life really comes at you quickly in the NBA…
