For most people, buying a house is a considerable investment. It happens just once or twice in anyone’s lifetime, so a lot of thought and effort goes into making the decision.

Shaquille O’Neal is not like most people, though. An NBA legend and a successful businessman worth over $400 million, the former Los Angeles Lakers superstar moves differently. And he recently bought a house without ever having seen it, apparently deciding on FaceTime.

On the show Shaq Life by TNT, his move to Miami from Orlando was shown a year ago. Snoop Dogg narrated the decision: “After 20 years in Orlando, Shaq’s got it in his head that he should live in Miami. So what did he do? He bought a brand new house, sight unseen. Now the only thing left to do is to actually go see it.”

Shaquille O’Neal then went into the house and met his realtor, Kerry, saying, “I’ve been bugging her two to three years to get me a house. I was gonna go, super expensive, on the water. But since I’m not gonna be here like that, I wanted something fresh and brand new.”

Kerry explained the process in detail, saying, “I found him this house two months ago. I placed an offer and did a FaceTime video walkthrough with him. He wanted to close in like, two days, no inspection, no due diligence, he just wants everything right now.”

When he was dominating on the court, Shaquille O’Neal was impossible to deny, and it seems like that is still the case. He has the money to do whatever he likes, although the way he has built his business empire goes to show that he’s not the same frivolous spender that he was in his younger years.

Shaquille O’Neal Is Known To Spend Big Money Spontaneously

There is no point in becoming rich if you can’t spend on a whim at times. And Shaquille O’Neal certainly hasn’t held himself back when the fancy has taken him, making some interesting impulse purchases. He bought a million-dollar house in Dallas last year and got his son Shareef a Rolex while trying to raise the prices at a charity auction

His tendency to overspend sometimes helps people, like when he bought a woman laptops for her children after seeing her at the store. It is always amazing to see someone as rich as Shaq be so generous, and it’s clear that he’s not just generous to others but also to himself.
