Shaquille O’Neal Reveals His Feud With Kobe Was All For Marketing Purposes: “If You Believed It, Then You Think We Win 3 Out Of 4?”

Talking about some of the best duos ever formed in the history of the NBA, one cannot leave Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal’s partnership. The two superstars were insane and even helped the Los Angeles Lakers win three consecutive NBA championships.

Everything seemed too good to be true for the organization and that turned out to be the case. The two superstars had alpha personalities, which ultimately led to the organization making a hard decision. They had to choose between one of their superstars and the franchise went ahead with Kobe.

Most people have always believed this was the complete truth. However, Shaq recently made some shocking revelations about his relationship with Kobe in a podcast.

“I perpetuated it out of the locker room because the one thing I understood was marketing. So, ‘I don’t like him and he don’t like me,’ and everybody talked about us. That’s all I want. It kind of went too far where people kind of believed it. If you believed it then you think we win 3 out of 4?”

Surprised? Right? After all these years, it turns out that the “beef” was nothing but for marketing purposes. In fact, Shaq revealed that the two of them never had any bad blood between the two of them.

While the Kobe-Shaq duo might not have broken up due to any feud between them, considering their work ethics, the two stars would have eventually broken up.

If the two stars had managed to play together for a longer time, they could have won at least one or two more rings, at least.

Regardless of what was the reason for the two stars broke up, maybe it all happened for the best. Both Shaq and Kobe will always be remembered as two of the best players to ever step on the basketball court.

It was great to see them play together during the late 90s and the early 2000s. What are your thoughts on Shaq’s comments? What was the exact reason the duo broke up? Feel free to use the comments section to discuss about the same in detail.
