LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers starred in a controversial moment on Saturday night that didn’t end well for the Purple and Gold. In yet another hard-fought matchup against their archrivals Boston Celtics, the Lakers succumbed against the C’s, but the result could have been a lot different for them.

During the final seconds of regulation, LeBron James attacked the basket and couldn’t get the points after Jayson Tatum fouled him. Officials didn’t ignore that play and didn’t call anything, sending the game to overtime, where the Celtics would eventually get the win, 125-121.

This situation didn’t please anybody on the Lakers, and from people like LeBron himself, Anthony Davis, and Darvin Ham, nobody was happy with the referees and the unfortunate decisions they made at the end of the game. They would admit that they missed the call, but nothing else was done to fix this.

Skip Bayless Has Wild Theory About LeBron James Being Happy With Blown Call Against Celtics

In the aftermath of this situation, a lot of people had something to say about it, including rival players but also some LeBron James haters like Bull Simmons. Besides him, Skip Bayless also gave his two pennies on this, wildly claiming that LeBron felt good after the non-call since that meant he wouldn’t go to the free-throw line.

“The truth is, I think LeBron was relieved he didn’t have to go stand by himself 15 feet away and make one free throw. No one has missed anywhere near as many close-game late-game free throws as LeBron since he came into the league.”

Contrary to what Bayless says, LeBron was really affected by this situation, as he even took to Twitter to express his unhappiness with the way things unfolded for the Lakers. They could have gotten a huge win against the Celtics, but officials missed a big call, ruining their chances of winning the match.
