The NBA Finals have dominated the discussion around the NBA for the last two weeks, but there are something fans have to talk about once they end, and that’s Ja Morant

Adam Silver said that Morant’s punishment would be announced after the season ended and it surely will be soon. In the meantime though, many people have tried to reach out to Ja to give him some good advice. As Skip Bayless recently revealed, Lil Wayne was one of those people, but Morant seemingly wasn’t interested.

“Lil Wayne, I said this, texted me saying, ‘Hey could you connect me with Ja? Because I can help him. I’ve been there, I’ve done all this. I’ve wound up in prison on Rikers Island. I know what happens, I know where you can go wrong and I know what’s right.’

“So I tried, I reached out to Ja, ‘Would you sit with Lil Wayne? Would you talk to Lil Wayne?’ Wayne would fly to him, fly to Memphis in a heartbeat. Wayne would private plane it and go right to Memphis if he thought he could save a career and a soul. I got nothing back from Ja.”

This is an interesting development, and it seems a lot of people are willing to extend their hand to help Ja Morant. But he is in a weird place at the moment. Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are waiting to find out what his punishment will be. But in the meantime, he has surely been speaking to people that can help him deal with the situation, even if that doesn’t include Lil Wayne.

Lil Wayne Already Defended Ja Morant After His Second Gun Scandal

The rapper is quite involved in NBA discussions, he recently praise Nikola Jokic’s dominance on the court. And he has been following the Ja Morant situation closely, he even defended the Grizzlies superstar after the second scandal first occurred

“The best I could do is remember when I was younger and my homies, my squad, my n**gas around me, at the age where they don’t have money,” he said. “I’m the one with the money, and I don’t even know how much money I’ll end up with, but I’m the one with some money in my pocket. I know I got a bright future. My homies, they ain’t on a payroll. They my homies — they live good when they with me.”

“So if I was going through something at that point in time, something public like what slime going through, I could imagine the rebellious attitude I would have if my homies is egging that attitude on.”

There’s no doubt that Morant could learn a lot from the life experiences Lil Wayne has already had, and they might still connect through another medium that isn’t Skip Bayless. Whatever happens, it’s not a good time for Ja right now, but he can hopefully come back from it stronger than ever before.
