Skip Bayless has been in the headlines ever since news broke that his ‘Undisputed’ co-host Shannon Sharpe was leaving the show. And in a recent update, several insiders associated with the network and the show revealed how it was with Bayless.

Per Front Office Sports, “Nothing happens on that show without Skip,” the sources said. “They chose Skip over everything else. You can’t tweet about him, talk about him, anything – or they call you into the office,” said a source. “On ‘Undisputed,’ he makes all the calls, even when he’s off.”

The report also added that Bayless was expected to be the final decision when it comes to Sharpe’s replacement. The challenge now for Fox will be to find someone who can manage to be impactful but, at the same time, not go against Bayless.

“Skip is not going to hire anybody who challenges him – and he’s going to make the hire. So it’s a crazy deal,” warned the source. “And here’s the kicker: you have to be willing to work with Skip, you’re going to have to put up with some shit, and he has to approve of you. And you have to get up at 3:30 in the morning.”

Sharpe is all set to exit the show once the NBA Finals end. While there is no actual reveal behind his departure, speculations are rife that his fractured relationship with Bayless is the main reason.

Kyrie Irving Supports Shannon Sharpe Leaving Undisputed

Kyrie Irving reacted to the news of Shannon’s departure on Twitter and replied with a simple ‘lol’, and a GIF implying that this was a move he believed Sharpe should have done a long time ago.

The Dallas Mavericks guard is one of the players who has been at the receiving end of Bayless’ comments and surely will be pleased with Sharpe’s departure. It’s worth noting that Bayless and Sharpe clashed quite frequently in 2022, and what was supposed to be a healthy topic of discussion would be seen turning very murky very quickly.

Only time will tell who Sharpe’s replacement will be, but as far as sources’ details go, things look challenging for Fox at the moment.
