The New York Knicks and Miami Heat will face off in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in what promises to be an intense series. And considering the seasons they have both had, it is hard to say which team will win.

Having been a lifelong fan of the New York Knicks, Stephen A. Smith is picking his team to beat the Miami Heat. But another NBA personality from New York, Kenny Smith, has picked the Heat. And Stephen A. called him out for it on First Take.

“Just as an aside, to my brother Kenny Smith – Queens in the building, Queens in the building. Kenny Smith, TNT, the blasphemy this man picked Miami,” Stephen A. Smith said. “I was ashamed. It’s a betrayal to New York, but I’ll hold it down, New York.”

Stephen A. Smith and Kenny Smith both went to high school in Queens, growing up in New York. So it’s understandable that Stephen A. can’t believe that the Jet is going against his hometown team. However, considering how dominant Jimmy Butler has been, it’s also an understandable pick.

Stephen A. Smith Is All In On The New York Knicks Winning

The New York Knicks won a playoff series for the first time in 10 years when they beat the Cleveland Cavaliers, so Smith’s optimism is understandable. He celebrated wildly when they clinched the series and has since explained why he thinks they will prevail against Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat as well

“New York is a different animal, baby,” Smith said. “Jimmy has been to a lot of stages. Hell, he went to the finals, he was in the conference finals last season. But when you come to the Garden, it’s a different beast. We gonna find out.

“He will go down, in this series. The Garden is a different animal. New York gonna handle their business because they fear Jimmy Butler respectfully enough that they will key on him in ways that Milwaukee inexplicably never did.”

The New York Knicks and the Miami Heat will face off against one another on Sunday, and the series will likely be a gritty one. Both teams weren’t given much of a chance to make the Conference Finals before the postseason began, and now both will feel like they have a good chance to get there. There’s no way to predict how it will all turn out.
