  • Stephen Curry has spent 14 years in the league with the Warriors
  • At 35, Curry is approaching the end of his prime
  • Curry will be looking to add a couple more titles before retiring as one of the greatest

Stephen Curry, the iconic Golden State Warriors guard, has been one of the faces of the NBA for over a decade. His unparalleled shooting ability, remarkable ball-handling skills, and charisma have made him one of the league’s most prominent faces. However, as he approaches the age of 35, Curry acknowledges that the twilight of his illustrious career is on the horizon.

In a recent interview with Willie Geist at TODAY All Day, he opened up about his thoughts on retirement and how this serves as motivation for the final chapters of his basketball journey:

“The thoughts (of retirement) do creep in of what that timeline really looks like. I know it almost puts into perspective how important these next two, three years are in terms of doubling down on the level that I want to be at and continue to play at, and pushing it to the limit as long as I can.”

“I just love the fact the timeline almost just gives me much more motivation for the now to take advantage of every opportunity that I have because, you know, the ball is going to stop bouncing at some point.”

Unlike many players whose careers depend heavily on athleticism, Stephen Curry’s game revolves around his unparalleled skills as a shooter and playmaker.

Steph Curry And The Warriors Have A Great Shot For One Final Run

Even though he is 35, Curry is still one of the best players in the league, and the Warriors still have a strong squad. Even though they had a disappointing end last time out, their fans will be excited to see Curry and the new-look Warriors back in action.

Despite his team facing a tough time in the playoffs, Curry had a stellar run. He averaged 29.4 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 6.3 APG while shooting 42.7% from 3-point range. Curry has shown that he can carry a team to a title. And he will have Chris Paul, a veteran point guard, joining the team.

Last season, the Warriors had major chemistry issues, and there were a lot of uncertainties surrounding the team. As a result, Jordan Poole was traded to the Wizards for Paul, who is still hungry for his first-ever NBA title.

The Warriors squad is among the best in the league and their core is still intact. Steve Kerr is one of the best coaches and they will be bolstered by the presence of Chris Paul. However, the onus will be on Stephen Curry to deliver and the Baby-Faced Assassin will be up for the task.
