Superstar Stephen Curry is still a superstar-level player at the age of 35, and he is part of the reigning champions, the Golden State Warriors. Though they have struggled as a team this season, many believe that the Warriors can still win the title this season.

Recently, we saw Stephen Curry open up on what it would mean to win another championship with the Warriors. He claimed that with every championship he wins, he will enter “another echelon of legends.” Marc Spears of Andscape relayed the news.

“It would mean everything because, at one point, it was believed that we were done even before last season,” Curry said. “So, it’s just a matter of feeling like you can get greedy, and you obviously understand every championship that you get, you put yourself in another echelon of legends that have won at the highest of high levels. Obviously, Bill Russell, nobody’s going to catch that. But to get to Jordan winning six and Kobe winning five, the [San Antonio] Spurs’ Tim Duncan. So, all that stuff is about the inherent legacy that you’ll continue to create even though we’ve done a lot, and that’s why we still work tirelessly to make that a reality again.”

There is no doubt that Stephen Curry would be viewed differently if he had five championships. That would put him at the same number of championships as Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan, which is another tier entirely from where he’s at right now.

Stephen Curry is currently putting up 29.6 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 6.3 APG for the Warriors. His efficiency has been elite, as the point guard is shooting 49.7% from the field and 43.6% from beyond the arc. He is an MVP-level player most seasons, and Curry could have been in the discussion had he not been injured.

The Warriors Still Have The Talent To Win A Championship

There is no doubt that the Golden State Warriors are still an extremely dangerous team when fully healthy. They have multiple All-Star players, as well as solid complementary pieces.

In fact, previously, Stephen Curry expressed confidence that the Golden State Warriors would be a tough matchup for anybody in the postseason. The Warriors are an experienced team, and no matter the seeding, they should never be counted out.

It will be interesting to see how the Warriors end up doing against other Western Conference contenders. Though the Western Conference is overall weaker this season, there are some teams that could end up giving the Warriors a challenge. With that being said, as long as Stephen Curry is on the court, the Warriors will be good against any team.
