It isn’t common for LeBron James to have a losing record against somebody in the playoffs, but Stephen Curry is one of the few who have had the upper hand against James.
Prior to their meeting in the playoffs this season, Curry had a 15-7 edge over LeBron, but it is fair to say a lot of that was thanks to Kevin Durant. With the Golden State Warriors falling behind 3-1 to the Los Angeles Lakers, Curry is now 1-7 in his last eight postseason games against James when he doesn’t have Durant by his side.

There was some talk before this series that the outcome would define who is the best player of this generation , and the way things are going, LeBron is going to hold on to that crown. As great as Curry is, there really shouldn’t have ever been a debate on who is the top dog in this era.
NBA History Would Have Looked Quite Different Had Kevin Durant Not Joined The Warriors
It is safe to say NBA history would have changed completely had Durant not joined the Warriors. The LeBron-led Cleveland Cavaliers just seemed to have their number after overturning that 3-1 deficit in the 2016 Finals, but KD’s arrival changed everything.
Had Durant not joined, it is entirely possible LeBron would have six titles to his name now, as Andre Iguodala even admitted that James would have beaten them every time without Durant. With six titles, LeBron would then have a very strong case to be regarded as the GOAT over Michael Jordan, as they would have had the same number of championships, but it wasn’t to be. He will be fancying his chances at getting his fifth title this season, though, with the Lakers being one win away from the Conference Finals.
