Stephen Curry and LeBron James both proved in the first round of these playoffs that they’re not ready to make way for a new generation just yet. They will now meet in the Western Conference Semifinals, another series between two stars that clashed every year in the NBA Finals between 2015 and 2018.

The Golden State Warriors vs. Los Angeles Lakers series promises to be incredible, and there are already raging debates about who will come out on top. With that in mind, here’s a look at the head-to-head record between Stephen Curry and LeBron James when they played against one another in the postseason.

2015 NBA Finals: Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 4-2

2016 NBA Finals: Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 3-4

2017 NBA Finals: Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1

2018 NBA Finals: Golden State Warriors vs. Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0

Stephen Curry has won 15 games against LeBron James in the postseason, he has one of the best win percentages against the King. James has managed seven wins. Golden State won three of those NBA Finals series in 2015, 2017, and 2018, while the Cavaliers prevailed in 2016. Overall, Stephen Curry has won 25 of the 43 games the two have faced each other in. Their regular season record against one another is 10-10.

When it comes to an individual statistical performance, though, the difference is pretty massive. LeBron James has averaged 30.8 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 7.9 assists against Stephen Curry. On the other hand, the Warriors star has averaged 24.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in those games. The individual head-to-head favors LeBron James. He also won the only play-in game the two have played against each other in 2021.

Stephen Curry’s Record Against LeBron James Without Kevin Durant Is A Lot More Even

After the Golden State Warriors lost against the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016, they added Kevin Durant to a 73-9 win team. This is widely considered the most stacked superteam of all time, and their next two series against LeBron James’ Cavaliers saw them win eight games and lose just one. But without Kevin Durant by his side, Stephen Curry won seven games against the King, who led his team to six wins.

This current series is a close contest in terms of roster depth and talent, so it will be a great opportunity for either one to distinguish themselves. A spot in the Western Conference Finals awaits, and the idea of LeBron James and Stephen Curry going at one another for at least one more series is as exciting as the NBA can get.

After five years, we finally have another legendary series between Stephen Curry and LeBron James. This will be the first time they won’t play against each other in the NBA Finals, but we will take it like it is.
