Steph Curry had a spectacular performance against the LA Clippers. In yet another win to bump the Warriors’ record to 18-2, Curry put on a show against the Clippers, scoring 33 points, and making 7 threes. But a big talking point from the game was Curry receiving a technical foul, and his angry reaction to that.

Curry was driving to the basket, and got physically powered out by Terance Mann. But there wasn’t a foul called, which Curry did not appreciate. He got in the referee’s face and confronted him over the decision. Curry’s aggressive approach led to him getting a technical foul from the referee for dissent.

After the game, the Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr spoke about Curry’s aggressive reaction to the foul, saying that Curry’s competitive side comes out when he feels he is in the right and the officials don’t call it the way he feels they should. And that aggression was because of how blatant he felt the foul was.

"When he knows he's right, the competitor in him comes out and he'll kind of lose his mind a little bit."

“It’s as upset as I have seen Steph in a long time, and it’s as upset as I have been in a long time too. Kind of a miracle I didn’t get a technical. But it seemed to get him going. Whatever it takes, I guess. He clearly got fouled. Steph is a guy who, he’s just so competitive. And when he knows he got fouled, especially on play like that in transition, where it’s right out in the open, easy to see and he doesn’t get the cal. Every once in a while he’s going to snap. He doesn’t do it often but when he knows he’s right, the competitor in him comes out and he’ll kind of lose his mind a bit.”

In response to the foul, Curry proceeded to reign down with fury on the Clippers, making 3 consecutive three-pointers to seal the victory for the Warriors in convincing fashion. He even mocked the referee with a celebration after making a corner three, making the technical foul gesture toward the ref.

Kerr was right in that Curry was motivated after that call. Curry was able to help the Warriors secure the game. Up until the foul, the game was actually close. But it was after the technical foul that Curry turned up the heat and decided to put the game on ice.
