The 2023 NBA Finals are in full flow right now following the Denver Nuggets’ Game 3 win over the Miami Heat. NBA legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce live-streamed their reactions to the matchup on ‘Showtime Basketball’ YouTube channel.

During the stream, Pierce appeared to be drunk and gave fans many hilarious moments. One such moment was when the Celtics legend introduced Garnett to his girlfriend, who he hired from an escort service.

“Kevin, Camiel. So, this is my girlfriend for the day,” Pierce said. “They got a website where you can hire a girlfriend for the day. So I got a girlfriend for the day.”

Garnett can be heard begging Pierce to stop multiple times. He was visibly uncomfortable after Pierce kept mumbling about his ‘girlfriend.’ Pierce, on the other hand, couldn’t care less, most likely due to being intoxicated.

Since retiring from the NBA, Paul Pierce has flaunted a luxurious lifestyle. Of course, it includes drinking and hanging out with girls. That was the primary reason for Pierce’s firing from ESPN in 2021.

Paul Pierce Opened Up About Getting Fired By ESPN

Paul Pierce was an excellent NBA player. During his 19-year career in the league, he averaged a respectable 19.7 PPG, 5.6 RPG, and 3.5 APG. Pierce also won the 2008 NBA Championship with the Celtics, along with the NBA Finals MVP.

But as good as Pierce was at playing basketball, he sucked at being an analyst. Not many loved Pierce’s ridiculous takes about the league. The final nail in the coffin of his analyst career with ESPN was when an inappropriate Instagram Live video featuring Pierce went viral.

Pierce was shocked after being sacked by ESPN. So much so that he explained the story behind his firing in an episode of the, ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast.

“I got fired for having some entertainment,” Pierce explained. “I’m playing cards, it’s my boy’s birthday, it’s girls dancing, and we blowing some trees. I mean, what did I do wrong? I don’t even go Live, either. I was just feeling my haircut or something, and then it was popping behind me. But the hood was feeling me.”

Although Pierce’s career at ESPN was cut short due to his extravagant lifestyle, he is having an amazing time with Showtime Basketball. He makes regular appearances on Kevin Garnett’s ‘KG Certified’ podcast.
