Nikola Jokic was his usual funny self after a humdinger game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

Speaking in the aftermath of the comprehensive 109-94 win, the two-time MVP was asked whether the team dinner at Jeff Green’s house prior to the game was one of the bonding activities that helped the team bounce back with a win.

“He has a nice house,” Jokic replied, leaving the media in splits. “Jeff is a veteran, a guy who is so professional that all the young guys coming into the league, talk to him or see his approach in the game, he’s a professional and that’s why he’s there for so long in the league.”

Green has largely been confined to the bench role this season. In the 56 games he has played for the Nuggets, he averages 7.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. But in what comes as a true impact player for the side, the 36-year-old has been the perfect locker room leader for the side, even earning Jokic’s respect.

The two best players on the Nuggets were unstoppable against the Heat in Game 3. Jokic was brilliant with 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Jamal Murray was the perfect support with 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists.

With his triple-double, Jokic became the first player in NBA history with a 30-20-10 performance, once again he proving why he is the best player in the league.

Can The Nuggets Keep Up Their Winning Run?

The series has both parties clearly say that it’s about the first team to four wins, and the Nuggets are halfway there with two wins in three games.

At best, the team has been well-organized, and the players are doing their jobs on the floor to near perfection. It took Miami all of their skills to walk away with a Game 2 win, but Denver was well on top since the start of the first quarter on Wednesday.

That said, this is the NBA Finals, and stranger things have happened in the league. Will the Heat be able to pull off another win and take the series deeper, or whether Jokic and Co. land two more punches and close it out remain to be seen?
